Mission statement

To play an important role as a voice for women in Montreal and its surrounding areas through a forum of member organizations and individual members.

Membership criteria

The MCW is a non-profit, non-partisan, non-sectarian organization and is established as a federation of local autonomous organizations, termed Federated Organizations or Locally Organized Societies (LOSs), and of Individual Members, having objects similar to those of the MCW.

Membership in the Council is open to all individuals and groups who support the object, policy and principles as stated in the MCW Constitution and By-laws.

Governance

TThe Constitution of MCW is established and governed by the NCWC. The By-laws of MCW which guide the organisation were originally established in 1893 and are updated periodically at an Annual General Meeting. The most recently amended By-laws are:
